You’re not everyone’s cup of tea. Being true to yourself will help you get dates, but that doesn’t mean you can date whoever you’d like. It would be tough for a couch potato to seduce a world class athlete. Life won’t be easy if you’re trying to date people with whom you share no interests. You might luck out, but generally people look for a partner who shares the same passions.

Don’t be lazy. Deciding to be yourself doesn’t guarantee that people will come running to you. Take initiative and start conversations with new people. How do you expect someone to get to know you if you aren’t talking to them?

Be interesting. Write a list of the ten most interesting events in your life. If you have trouble thinking of things it means you haven’t lived enough or you need to get to know yourself. Don’t take it as an insult. Recognize the opportunity for growth and seize it. If you want a great life you should do great things!

Of course being yourself isn’t the only way to get a date, but it’s an important first step. There’s no correct way to be you. Take advantage of your alone time. Investigate what makes you feel happy. Remember that being yourself doesn’t necessarily mean doing what comes naturally.

I'd think it's embarrassing to be told what to do like a little child in public. It would be nice if he used some other way of reminding you...a tap with his foot under the table or something. Really the rest of the world doesn't need to see a husband ordering for his wife as if she can't read a menu.

I'm not allowed to drink before the children go to bed at nine and also not unless I ask him first. I have been severely taken in hand on at least one occasion for breaking that rule.
